Recursively Checking In/Out Files With Rational ClearCase

One of the main problem with Rational ClearCase is its inability to recursively Check In or Check Out Files. But the same task can be achieved by making use of the Windows built in functionality. Following are the steps for the same..

1) Right Click on the directory which needs to be recursively Checked Out or Checked In

2) Click on the Search Menu option which opens a Windows Search Results Window

3) Click on the More Advanced Options and Unselect all the other options except Search subfolders option

4) Click on the Search button which lists all the files and sub folders in that directory

5) Select All the files, right click on any of the selected file and select Clearcase -> Check Out (or Check In)

6) Finally select Apply to All in the window which asks for the comment for Check In or Check Out
